Transmedia Storytelling 101

1. Transmedia storytelling is important in digital convergence because the story and the marketing become intertwined. This is to say that consumers are accessing different content on different media, however all of that content is specific to one story. 2. Media business can benefit from transmedia storytelling for a number of reasons. One being a way of keeping audiences engaged even when the show is not in season. This also creates multiple entry points for new consumers to access. 3. This can be a benefit to different bodies of audience consuming products because different media gives them a chance to pander to a young or old audience making one media more appealing over the other and vice versa. 4. What does aggregation mean? Aggregation is when things are brought together whether it be smart people, ideas, information etc.  Why does the author describe Arianna Huffington as “the queen of aggregation?”  Go to the Huffington Post and provide an example. Arianna Huffington is described as "the queen of aggregation" due to the fact that Huffington knows how to bring other aggregators together, almost eliminating people who make real things to aggregate. Huffington Post has a wide variety of content from a variety of sources.  Is aggregation a threat to professional journalism - why or why not?
